Update Your Site for Ebay Partner Network (EPN)

If you currently have a BANS store please don’t forget to update your copy of BANS to work with the new Ebay Partner Network. Ebay will no longer be using Commission Junction to run its affiliate program. For the month of April the old and new programs will overlap, but after April you must convert your store. The update is available from the BANS forum. Click on the Update Area link at the top of the forum and download the appropriate zip file for your version. The upgrade is very straightforward if you haven’t made any mods. If you have changed index.php or frontcontrol.php you’ll lose your changes if you overwrite the files. In that case you’ll most likely have to “diff” the new files and your modified files and incorporate the changes by hand. There aren’t that many (I had to do it this way on all of my sites).

You’ll also need to apply to EPN as a separate step. Once you do you can create new “campaigns” and then those campaign numbers are what you’ll enter into the BANS admin panel, where you used to enter the CJ ID.

So far the EPN admin panel and reporting looks a lot better then CJ. Thanks to the folks at BANS for updating all versions of the site! Even those of you with older versions can update without having to change the whole look of your site.
